I Spent Three Days Scrolling Wedding Instagram and Something Felt Off

I Spent Three Days ill After Christmas scrolling Instagram and tik tok… and It changed how I see the Wedding Industry
Just after Christmas I was knocked out with a cold. One of those annoying ones where you’re not dying, but you’re not going anywhere either. So like most people do, I ended up spending far too much time scrolling Instagram and TikTok.
And after a couple of days of wedding content, something started to feel… off.
Every bar was perfect.
Every wedding looked cinematic.
Every setup was flawless.
Every supplier suddenly had a portfolio that looked like a professional shoot.
And that’s when it clicked.
A lot of what couples are now seeing online isn’t real anymore.
When Everything Starts to Look Too Perfect
Don’t get me wrong, there are some incredibly talented people in this industry. But when every single wedding bar starts to look like it’s been styled by a luxury magazine, you have to ask a simple question:
“How is everyone suddenly delivering this?”
The answer, more and more often, is AI.
AI can now generate:
styled wedding bars
florals and décor
soft romantic lighting
even full venues
It takes seconds. No stock. No warehouse. No team. Just a prompt and a laptop.
I Tried It Myself
Out of curiosity, I ran an experiment.
I took photos of our real mobile bars. The ones we actually use at weddings and events. Then I asked AI to “wedding style” them.
In a few seconds, it turned them into:
luxury-looking setups
soft golden lighting
floral backdrops
romantic, high-end wedding scenes
They looked incredible.
But they were completely made up.
Same bar. Different reality.
And that’s when I realised how easy it would be for someone with very little experience to create a portfolio that looks like they’ve done a hundred luxury weddings… without ever leaving their bedroom.

Why That’s a Big Problem
A wedding isn’t something you can redo.
If a supplier shows you something online that they can’t actually deliver, you don’t just lose money. You lose part of your wedding day.
AI isn’t bad. We use it too. But when it’s used to sell something that doesn’t exist, that’s where couples get caught out.
Why Meeting Your Suppliers Matters Now More Than Ever
You can’t fake:
a real team
real experience
real conversations
or real chemistry
You can’t tell how someone will handle pressure, guests or timings from a perfect Instagram grid. You only get that by meeting them.
That’s exactly why we created the Mr & Mrs Experience.
What the Mr & Mrs Experience Is Really About
It’s not a wedding fair. It’s a relaxed, date-night style evening where newly engaged couples get to:
meet real suppliers
ask real questions
taste, see and experience what they actually do
and decide if the vibe feels right
No sales pitches. No fake portfolios. Just people you might trust with your wedding.
If you want to know who you’re actually booking, this is where you do it.

Final Thought
AI is changing the wedding industry whether we like it or not.
But your wedding deserves more than a beautifully edited illusion. It deserves real people who show up, care, and know what they’re doing.
And honestly… after three days of scrolling, that matters more than ever 🍸
